We purchased new outdoor furniture in Sydney shortly before moving to Singapore in 2011. It was looking a bit tired and our outdoor patio needed a lift, so it was time for an upgrade. I’d stumbled across several pieces I liked but the prices were double what we would expect to pay for similar in Australia. Woody Antique House helped us with some dining chairs and coffee table a few years back so we decided to stop in one afternoon when we were at Dempsey. We saw exactly what we wanted as soon as we walked in the door! We ordered the Verona corner sofa and coffee table. It’s made from powder-coated steel and comes with grey outdoor cushions. The staff at Woody (in particular, Richard) are friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They also provide great after-sales service. We’ll definitely buy from Woody Antique House again; I like to go there for a browse, even if we don’t “need” anything! The store’s delivery team went above and beyond to ensure our new furniture was carefully handled, installed and configured in the best way for the space.

I was looking for a cabinet in specific measurements as I found standard cabinets to be a bit low in height. Initially, I came across a wonderful signature piece for displaying my teapot collection while browsing items at Woody Antique House. I then liaised with the sales assistant who helped with the selection and purchasing via WhatsApp. The shop also lent me some items for two months while I waited for my custom-made pieces to be delivered. The delivery men couldn’t have been more careful and helpful, and the overall service was wonderful.

We were looking for something that would always remind us of our time in Singapore and the region. This suar-wood slab from Woody Antique House drew our attention because it’s uniquely shaped, yet very durable. We also love that no two tables made of suar wood are alike – they each have highlights of different colours and distinctive wood grain patterns. It was also important to us to have something from Southeast Asia to complement our Peranakan-style home. We chose to buy from Woody Antique House because we were advised by friends that the quality and variety of their furniture range is the best on the island, and their customer service is excellent. We’re so very happy with our items and will undoubtedly purchase additional pieces from Woody Antique House in the future.

We were looking to design a home with a combination of modern furniture pieces and restored Asian pieces that complemented each other. After doing a lot of research and trying to find a store with a wide selection, good reviews and quality products, we visited a couple of places, but neither of them had the selection we desired. We went home and did more research, and that’s when we decided to visit Woody Antique House. On arrival, we immediately knew it was the right store! The team was very easy to work with and supportive during all our questions. We purchased a shoe cabinet from Woody Antique House that had originally been a medicine cabinet. For the master bedroom, we purchased an armoire and a dressing table. We also decided on a chest table for the front area of our home.

We ordered an L-shaped sofa with coffee table, cushions and matching storage from Woody Antique House. Wei Chin and her team were so helpful and friendly, making it very easy. They offered great advice on our decision, plus the ability to deliver quickly; and there was no hard sell, just genuinely great customer service. Finalising the order was quick and easy too, and the delivery came on time with no hassle. It’s a very helpful, customer-focused and friendly place to buy from. I enjoyed the shopping experience and the furniture is beautiful. Plus, nothing was too much trouble for the team

I chose Woody Antique House because of the quality of their service and their ability to design furniture to our specifications. When we entered the store, the first thing that struck us was the warm welcome we received. On subsequent visits they even remembered our names. We initially ordered two customised daybeds with a unique lattice design. I wanted them to have a low back so they didn’t obstruct the sea view from our living room. I also designed a half-moon table for our lobby and a made-to-order shoe cupboard. I’m extremely happy with our purchases and have since bought two bar stools from the store. Each member of the Woody Antique House staff was extremely attentive to our needs – something not found often in today’s busy world. It was this personalised service that made shopping there such a pleasant experience.

Woody Antique House are very professional, they have a wide selection and variety of quality furniture available. Nothing is too difficult for them. Even if you have a design in mind or picture of what you require, they will go out of their way to get it custom built. We ended up purchasing a six-seat solid antique wood dining table with matching buffet. When we decided we wanted a matching TV unit, Woody Antique were able to organise a build unit from our design to match, as they did not have exactly what we wanted in stock. We now wouldn’t consider going anywhere else for our furniture. Woody Antique House offer quality furniture, a friendly service, they are obliging and the price is right!

We’ve always been attracted to the practicality and clean, straight lines of some Asian furnishings, and were drawn to this antique cabinet in warm elm. We love the gold tones of the disk, handles and hinges. With the help of Jean at Woody Antique House, we had the inside finished with thick glass shelves that really sparkle, and we maximised the potential space for storage inside. We’ve created a fun bar on the top shelf, and in the upper part of the cabinet we have our old photographs and documents safely stored. We were attracted to the nice, open presentation of furniture at Woody Antique House, and Jean gave us lots of time to consider and look around. We also purchased a Mongolian chest, dining room round table and six chairs, for which she helped us select cushions. We’re very pleased with everything, and our storage issues are now resolved.

I read about Woody Antique House in Expat Living. I checked various sources on the internet and saw that they had many satisfied customers, a large selection of furniture, and a set of outdoor furniture that appealed to me. The service there was excellent. We were shown the outdoor furniture I had seen and it was just what I was looking for. While we were there, and in two subsequent visits, we purchased a cabinet in chicken-wing wood and two other beautiful pieces of furniture. I also ordered a bed that had a three-month delivery date; our wonderful sales person at Woody arranged to lend us a bed until our order arrived. I’m very happy with my outdoor furniture. While we were waiting for living-room furniture, it served perfectly for daily use in our living room – it’s comfortable and stylish. I would definitely recommend Woody to others and Woody Antique House is the first place I will take them as they look to furnish their flats.

“Mel always wanted a dining table that was a real talking point, and big enough for us to get our whole family around – not just while the kids are growing up, but also for special family events like Christmas and birthdays. We saw a similar table in a house while looking for accommodation when we first moved to Singapore, and our friend suggested that we try looking in Dempsey. It was clear to see, from a quick online search, that Woody Antique House receives very favourable feedback. Our shopping experience there and its post-purchase customer service have been really excellent. The team at Woody’s was very transparent about delivery times and provided a very good customer experience on delivery, helping move the furniture into the right place and putting everything together really efficiently. The largest piece we bought was the dining table and chairs. The table is one solid piece of wood, beautifully finished; it’s also unique, as no two pieces of wood can ever be the same. We chose it not only because it’s stunning, but because it’s large enough to fit up to 12 people around it for a meal. We also bought some other pieces from Woody’s, including an antique Mongolian sideboard which is a real feature in our house.
